Ms. Steinfeld has had a fascinating career so far. She first rose to prominence in the Coen Brothers remake of True Grit, a role she was nominated for an Academy Award for at the tender age of 14! From there, she’s gone on to show just what a multi-faceted performer she is with both a flourishing singing career and a wide range of acting roles in Pitch Perfect, The Edge of Seventeen, and Barely Lethal.
She’s set to become quite a commodity later this year when she stars in the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, a film expected to surprise cynics everywhere this December. It’s the first Transformers film not to be directed by Michael Bay, and the early word is that it shows- drawing comparisons to being more like a Pixar film than its hollow, bombastic forebears.
If the film hits this Christmas, we expect Steinfeld to become a superstar, and we think she has everything it takes to be Supergirl.
