Kevin Smith Cast Original HOWARD THE DUCK Cast Member Lea Thompson In New TV Show!
Some of the biggest news we got this month was the development of 4 animated Marvel shows on Hulu. One of those was a Howard The Duck animated show, written by Kevin Smith. This isn’t the first time Howard the Duck has been on screen, besides his cameos in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, he had his own movie from Lucasfilm in the 80s. The love interest in that film was Lea Thompson.
Kevin Smith took to social media to announce that Lea Thompson has signed on to an undisclosed role in the cartoon:
“I can’t spoil where we’re going, but I can tell you this: I already asked movie-Howard heroine @lea_thompson to lend us her vocal Quack Fu in a to-be-revealed-later role! And she did NOT say no!”
Thompson likes the property, having pitched another live action movie to Marvel, who apparently liked it. That didn’t happen, but Thompson is still involved with the property. If the role can’t be discussed, it is most likely not the same character she played in the live action movie. I am curious to see who she gets to play, and whether that will roll over into The Offenders as well. No other cast has been announced yet. It is unknown whether Smith himself will voice a part, or if Seth Green will return to voice Howard himself. When we find out, we will be sure to keep you updated.
Howard The Duck will air exclusively on Hulu
