Favreau Reveals When His Live-Action STAR WARS TV Series Will Take Place, And It’s Awesome
Solo: A Star Wars Story is coming to theaters May 25th and has plenty of fans excited to see what story is told about the smooth talking con man from space. The Star Wars franchise has been a staple of sci-fi fantasy films for decades and continues to unfold the universe imagined by George Lucas, but the theater will not be the only place we see the live action saga play out. Star Wars is not new to the small screen as it has had its own animated program, but it will soon have a live action series streamed on Disney. The new series will be spear headed by Jon Favreau who is in the upcoming Star Wars: A Solo Story and recently shared his excitement to be writing what will be a new an untold story with new characters. during a brief announcement about his coming on board the Disney Star Wars train he shared some thoughts:
“If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn’t have believed you. I can’t wait to embark upon this exciting adventure.”
During the Solo red carpet yesterday, Favreau let loose some details about when his Star Wars series would take place when it eventually arrives on the unnamed Disney Streaming Service.
He says the series will take place seven years after the events of Return of the Jedi which opens the door for many possibilities of characters and story lines that can tie back into the the Star Wars saga and fill in the time gap between the Return of the Jedi and a little over a decade before The Force Awakens, that leaves a ton of time to cover.
There remains no word on the plot of the series or what new characters may be made for it but this new unknown story could be the start of a new saga in itself. Are you ready for a new branch in the tree of Star Wars? What would you like to see be the focus of this new series? Let me know.
