AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR: Anthony Russo Addresses Hawkeye’s Absence

Read Time:1 Minute, 19 Second

In the build-up to Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel has gone all out to show-off as many of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s heroes as possible.

However, there has been someone absent from the marketing: Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye. Fans have noticed that the bow-wielding hero hasn’t been seen in any of the marketing material released for the film so far, to the point where it has become almost meme-worthy.

Infinity War co-director Anthony Russo addressed the fans’ outcry over Hawkeye’s absence, saying it’s not because Hawkeye’s not as well-liked as the other Avengers, it’s just that they don’t want to spoil his role in the film.

All will be explained when people see the movie. It’s all tied into the story.

While Russo’s comment does give fans solace that we’ll get Hawkeye in the film, this doesn’t really give fans any idea of what Renner will be doing. It also doesn’t really explain why Hawkeye hasn’t gotten a poster or, heck, even an emoji from the night the Super Bowl trailer aired.

Maybe the Russos have something special planned for Hawkeye in the final product (maybe getting the final blow on Thanos?), but it’s strange to not even have him in any of the marketing. He’s one of the founding members of the Avengers! Guess fans will have to wait three weeks to get their fill of Hawkeye.

Avengers: Infinity War – along with Hawkeye – will be in theaters on April 26.

What do you guys think Hawkeye will do in Infinity War? Let me know below!

  1. ok, ok, ok………but what about Ant-Man, you could argue that Hawkeye is a tertiary character seeing as though he hasn’t had his own movie but Ant-Man was given his own movie
