Daisy Ridley Confirms She Isn’t In The Next Two STAR WARS Trilogies

Read Time:1 Minute, 55 Second

This December will mark the end of the Skywalker Saga when The Rise Of Skywalker hits theaters. Well that might be the end of a story over 40 years in the making, more Star Wars is on the way. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the showrunners of Game Of Thrones, are developing a standalone trilogy, as is The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson. While this might not be the last time we see Rey, Daisy Ridley confirms to BuzzFeed that she is not involved with either trilogy.

I mean, I can say I’m not in the next trilogy. No. I think, ’cause Rian always said…if it’s the Rian one…or it’s the guys that did Game of Thrones. I’m not sure. Whichever one it was, they always said it was going to be a separate story. So I’m not. No.

Here is the full interview, if you are interested.

Kathleen Kennedy has hinted in the past that the door is open to see further adventures of Poe, Finn, and Rey after Episode IX. But it just won’t be in the immediate future, or at least, in these two trilogies. It could be a standalone adventure, or a Disney+ series, but for now, fans should treat The Rise Of Skywalker like the characters swan song.

Even if we are saying goodbye to Rey, Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to this year. There is an awesome looking video game coming out called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in November. Also in November is the launch of Disney+ and with it, the first live action Star Wars show called The Mandalorian from Jon Favreau. The Star Wars universe can seem small at time, with everyone being related to each other and what not. But it seems that Lucasfilm is starting to do some work in order to truly expand the galaxy far, far, away.

I would be very surprised if we don’t see Daisy Ridley play Rey again, even if it is years from now in a cameo. But if this is truly her last time, I am thankful for the impact she has had on female Star Wars fans, and the franchise as a whole.
