Robert Pattinson Is Keeping Mum About THE BATMAN Casting

Read Time:1 Minute, 40 Second

These are busy days for Robert Pattinson. It’s been a week since it was reported that Pattinson was either already in talks with Warner Bros or at least the frontrunner to star in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. In the time since, Pattinson flew over to France to attend the worldwide premiere of his latest film- Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse, which received critical acclaim across the board and was deemed one of the highlights of Cannes Film Festival 2019 and it seems that production is getting ready to begin for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated spy thriller Tenet. Yet the question remains; Is Pattinson our new Batman?

Well, Pattinson sure as hell won’t say! In a new interview with French magazine Gala, Pattinson replied bluntly to the inevitable Batman question, “I’m sorry, but I absolutely can’t talk about that.” Additionally IndieWire noted in their report about The Lighthouse’s blazing reception at Cannes that Pattinson came prepared for the Vanity Fair party with a standard response with a smile, “I am only answering questions about The Lighthouse.

Considering how confident Variety appeared to be in their report last week and how both Deadline and THR conceded that Pattinson is indeed the frontrunner for the role, it stands to reason that Pattinson is staying quiet on the matter until negotiations conclude and the studio officially announces that he is Batman. Hopefully fans won’t have to wait too much longer on that front!

With characters like Penguin and Catwoman reported to be returning to the big screen in this film, I really want to find out what other actors will be joining Pattinson in The Batman!

If all of this Batman casting discussion, and these rumors about the rogues that will be included in the film are up your alley, then I strongly suggest you check out this week’s episode of our flagship podcast, because it’s 85 minutes of pure Batman goodness: CLICK HERE.
