We were not hush about it when our editor in Chief MFR exclusively revealed the cast for Batman: Hush. Now you can hear that vocal talent at work in the newest trailer for the animated film, courtesy of IGN.
Jason O’Mara is the voice of Batman, which deals with his relationship with Catwoman, and a brainwashed Superman (Jerry O’Connell) from a new villain.
Jeph Loeb wrote the original story, with illustrations from the legendary Jim Lee. The cast also includes Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, (Romijn is the real life wife of O’Connell, who plays Superman, so this is perfect), Rainn Wilson as Lex Luthor, Jennifer Morrison as Catwoman, and Vanessa Williams as Amanda Waller.
It is interesting that this is being released on home media instantly. One would think there is a world where this releases exclusively on the DC Universe streaming service, at least at first. They seem to be squandering the potential of that service.
Still, this has been a highly requested story to adapt into an animated flick. Even Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, the most famous animated versions of Batman and the Joker teased wanting to make this film in the past. The last couple of these animated ones have been inspired choices. First Batman squares off against the Ninja Turtles. Now its Hush. Animation is where DC has always thrived, and it doesn’t look like that is changing anytime soon.
“An adaptation of the seminal DC classic tale, Batman: Hush centers on a shadowy new villain known only as Hush, who uses Gotham’s Rogues Gallery to destroy Batman’s crime-fighting career, as well as Bruce Wayne’s personal life – which has already been complicated by a relationship with Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman. Coming late summer 2019.”
