SCOOB: Mark Wahlberg, Jason Isaacs, McKenna Grace And Iain Armitage Join The Cast
Scoob is an upcoming Warner Bros. Scooby Doo movie, and we have a casting update for y’all. First, The Hollywood Reporter has reported Mark Wahlberg and Jason Isaacs are joining the cast as Blue Falcon and Dick Dastardly respectively. Then The Hollywood Reporter again reports that Mckenna Grace and Iain Armitage will join the cast voicing young Daphne and young Shaggy respectively. They join a voice cast that includes Frank Welker as Scooby, Will Forte as an adult Shaggy, Zac Efron as Fred, Amanda Seyfried as an adult Daphne, Gina Rodriguez as Velma and Tracy Morgan as Captain Caveman. Captain Caveman is not part of the Scooby-Doo universe, but is part of the Hanna-Barbera universe.
Scoob is being produced by Warner Bros. and its animation group. Tony Cervone will direct the latest Scooby-Doo movie, with Chris Columbus, Charles Roven, Richard Suckle and Allison Abbate producing. It’s the first time since 2004 Scooby-Doo will hit the big screen, and hopefully, it’ll be a lot better. The plot revolves around the Mystery Inc. gang joining forces with other members of the Hanna-Barbera universe to save their universe from Dick Dastardly and his dastardly plans, with the threat, being real. Currently the movie is set for release a year from now, in May 2020.
Wahlberg is set to star in the adaptation of the 1970s science-fiction TV show, Six Billion Dollar Man next as Col. Steve Austin. Isaacs’ biggest works involve The OA, the Harry Potter franchise, Hotel Mumbai, and Death of a Stain. Grace starred in the billion-dollar hit Captain Marvel as a young Carol Danvers. Armitage is currently starring in the Big Bang Theory spinoff, Young Sheldon.
Are you excited for this silver screen adaptation of Scooby-Doo? I know I am! Let us know if you are in the comments below, and stay tuned for more as we have it!
