CASTLE ROCK Season 2 Will Go To Jerusalem’s Lot
Stephen King has a lot of properties running around right now, getting adaptations such as Salem’s Lot, IT: Chapter Two, Lisey’s Story, Dark Tower, The Talisman, The Stand, Firestarter, The Boogeyman, and Pet Sematary. We even have Castle Rock on Hulu, which is going in to its second season. This time, Tim Robbins will be joining in on the fun, playing the patriarch of King’s iconic Merrill crime family. The Greenfield Recorder has revealed Castle Rock will be adding even more King material, adding the fictional town Jerusalem’s Lot to the show from his Salem’s Lot novel. Hulu spokeswoman Yasamin Azarakhsh said season 2 will involve a conflict between the neighboring towns.
Castle Rock is an original show that takes a new approach on the famous author’s novels, providing a shared universe. Different characters, families, towns and plots are brought in to the show to create unique story all its own. The second season will star Robbins, Lizzy Caplan as Annie Wilkes (a character from King’s Misery), Paul Sparks as John “Ace” Merrill, and Elsie Fisher. The goal of each season of Castle Rock is to have each season be a self-contained story, so the only connection between seasons will be the setting of the show. co-creator Dustin Thomason has said the following.
“Each season is going to be its own self-contained story: beginning, middle, and end. But I think that just as the books do, we want to surprise viewers with the ways in which the stories intersect. Just as the places the characters pop up in very unexpected ways throughout the books, that’s the kind of anthology that we would like to tell.”
