A special event was held this morning to commemorate the impending start of principal photography for Bond 25– the current code name for the next chapter in the venerable James Bond franchise, which is said to be Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007.
While they didn’t reveal the official title just yet (something producer Michael G. Wilson points out is “a tradition“), they did unveil the full main cast for the film.
Check out who’s currently set to appear in Bond 25:
- Rami Malek
- Ralph Fiennes
- Rory Kinnear
- Ben Whishaw
- Naomie Harris
- Lea Seydoux
- Jeffrey Wright
- Lashana Lynch
- Billy Magnussen
- Ana de Armas
- David Dencik
- Dali Benssalah
That is quite a cast, isn’t it?
They also revealed some basic plot details for Bond 25, which can best be summed up as:
James (Craig) has left the service and is enjoying a quiet life in Jamaica, when an unexpected visit from his old pal Felix (Wright) from the CIA upends everything. Suddenly, he’s off to rescue a kidnapped scientist, but soon discovers that things are much more than they seem- and the former 007 is suddenly on the trail of a mysterious villain (Malek) who’s got access to very dangerous technology.
It sounds a little straightforward, but with a cast like this and Cary Fukunaga calling the shots behind the camera, I’m sure Bond 25 will be another exquisite spy adventure.
