HAWKEYE Is The Next Character To Get A Disney + Series

Read Time:1 Minute, 37 Second

Out of all of them, this makes the most sense. Hawkeye is one of the OG Avengers, and the one to get the least respect. His story was mishandled at almost every turn. But there is a chance of a retcon after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Promotional material has shown a very different Clint Barton than we are used to.

Variety reports that Jeremy Renner will return to the role for a limited series on Disney +. That is all well and good, but the best part of the story is that it will focus on Barton training and passing the ‘Hawkeye’ moniker on to Kate Bishop.

Kate Bishop is a very popular character in Marvel Comics, and for her to get her live action debut in the MCU is very exciting. It could be a nice swan song for Renner and a nice debut for whoever ends up playing Bishop. Don’t be surprised if she transitions to the big screen after her debut on the streaming service.

Renner has been on record that he would be game to do a Netflix series, back when Daredevil first aired. That corner of the Marvel universe was kept as separate as possible, but since all of the Disney + series will be overseen by Kevin Feige and the movie division, they can connect more.

This news also might provide spoilers for Endgame. It is a safe bet to think that Barton survives those events if this show is happening. However, I suppose the limited series could be between Civil War and Infinity War, with him retired and training someone new. Endgame could see him re-enter the fight after a tragedy, presumably his family disappearing. We could even see a quick Kate Bishop cameo, so there is definitely wiggle room for it to take place before Endgame.

We should learn more about Disney + today or tomorrow, like launch date and pricing, so stay tuned.
