A QUIET PLACE 2: Cillian Murphy Joins Cast As Man With ‘Mysterious Intentions’
John Krasinski’s directorial debut in A Quiet Place was absolutely stunning, pulling in multiple awards, so it was no surprise when a sequel for the movie was announced. Emily Blunt, and the two children in the movie, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are scheduled to return for A Quiet Place 2, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Cillian Murphy is in talks to be added. Krasinski is returning to the director’s chair after expressing interest in doing so. He will also be writing the script.
Right now there’s no news about the plot, but Murphy’s character will be a “man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit.” Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Michael Bay will be producers on the sequel. It’s been reported that A Quiet Place 2 will film this summer. Paramount has scheduled the film for release May 15, 2020.

Murphy is currently starring in Peaky Blinders, a BBC historical crime drama. He has starred as Jonathan Crane (The Scarecrow) in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, played a role in Nolan’s Dunkirk movie, and starred as the target in Inception. Murphy’s a great actor, he really knows how to make a role shine. He’s a perfect addition to A Quiet Place 2.
From Revenge of The Fans Reporter Jonathan Brady:
Last year’s A Quiet Place was a surprise hit for horror fans, including our very own MFR who wrote a review for the film last year. While fans have known for awhile now that a sequel was in the works with a 2020 release date in mind, little else has been known about the followup until now, although Krasinski did tease late last year that the sequel would be a “widening of the world.“
Personally this news really excites me! Murphy is a rather underrated actor in my opinion and the reported character description feels like it could be a role that goes in several different directions. Is he playing a new villain? Does this new character have valuable information about the mysterious aliens that have sent mankind into a silent hiding? Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing how this turns out!
Are you excited for the A Quiet Place 2? What do you think about Murphy being added to the cast? Let us know in the comments below!
