Sophie Turner Says The Next X-Men Film Is The DARK PHOENIX Story ‘Done Right’

Read Time:1 Minute, 22 Second

Ah, the Fox X-Men franchise, a series that has been criticized a lot lately by pretty much everyone and anyone that has access to social media.  And considering Dark Phoenix is shaping up to be Fox’s last hurrah on the big screen with these characters, one would think they would be going out in a blaze of glory.  Unfortunately, fans seem to just want the movie to release already so the Fox era can come to a conclusion and the MCU era can begin.

With the being said, if you ask Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) she seems very confident about Dark Phoenix. In an interview with Rolling Stone she described the film the following way:

“[It’s] Dark Phoenix done right. Every other scene in Dark Phoenix is, like, the most intense scene I’ve ever done.”

This quote can be a good thing.  One would think in order to truly capture this iconic story you would need some intensity.  Jean Grey is supposed to be the all-powerful character that generates intense moments and tragic moments as well.  If these are the scenes fans can expect then maybe we should not have such low expectations. Who knows? Maybe we enter the theater with just as much confidence as Turner has.  Either way I think considering it is the last mainline X-Men movie from Fox we should all just give it a chance. Or not, totally up to you.

What do you think of Turner’s comments? Do you think they’re going to nail this pivotal story this time around?

Dark Phoenix in theaters June 7.
