SHAZAM!: Levi And Sandberg Explain Why Batman Is ‘Cooler’ Than Superman

Read Time:2 Minute, 3 Second

Thanks to Batman V Superman the world found out definitively who would beat whom in a fight, right? Wrong! That debate still goes on, believe it or not, but thanks to Zachary Levi and David F. Sandberg the debate on who is cooler might be settled.  In an interview with Fandango the two discussed the topic and voted Batman as the “cooler” hero.

Zachary Levi in his argument says:

“Yeah, like a playboy. The whole Bruce Wayne thing is really cool and he’s a billionaire. Yeah, he’s got issues. I mean, Superman’s got issues too but Superman is the ultimate boy scout.”

And while we know Levi is being lighthearted when he dishes on this topic, he’s not the first person to act like Superman is a little too much of a goody two-shoes. Just ask the directors of Avengers: Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo

The label of boy scout gets tossed around a lot when people speak about Superman but there is just something so desirable about being a billionaire playboy, right Mr. Stark?  The Dark Knight may be cooler than the Man of Steel due to his awesome cars, gadgets and costume but Superman is still Superman and that is saying a lot. Empire online compiled a list of the 50 greatest comic book characters of all-time and one could take a wild guess to who came out on top: Kal-El.  Of course, this list is not the end all be all but is it really that surprising that he was number one?

Batman is one of the coolest superheroes of all-time and that isn’t an overstatement.  Just think about how many kids you see dressed up as Batman on Halloween or on any random day for that matter.  Think about how many Batman inspired tattoos you’ve seen.  From Legos to blankets and coffee mugs to underwear, all have built on the popularity of the brooding hero.  Also, you can’t tell me that you have never uttered the words, “I’m Batman.”

But now for the most important question: Who do you think is cooler? Supes or Bats? Sound off in the comments below!

Shazam! arrives in theaters on April 5.
