Netflix Is Developing A THREE MUSKETEERS Movie (With a Twist!)

Read Time:1 Minute, 29 Second

There are some ideas that seem so obvious, you wonder why they’ve never been thought of before! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has picked up a film that is being described as “a modern take on Alexandre Dumas’ classic adventure tale The Three Musketeers.” Pitched by Harrison Query, THR has said this new version of the classic story will be also take inspiration from the Mission: Impossible movies. Sounds awesome!

The classic Three Musketeers tells the story of d’Artagnan a young man in 17th century France who dreams of joining the legendary King’s guard, The Musketeers. He is rejected and is sent to an academy that trains Musketeers but along the way meets three of the most famous of the guard, Athos, Aramis, and Porthos. He joins them on a thrilling adventure!

The idea of The Three Musketeers being influenced by Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible films, which are known for their engaging stories filled with unexpected twists and turns, is an interesting inspiration for bringing this French classic to life. They’re also filled with unrivaled stunts and action scenes, many of them pulled off by Cruise himself, so we can expect plenty of spectacle for this Netflix movie.

The film will be produced by Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless who produced Bright for the streamer. While Bright didn’t exactly win with the critics, it was a massive hit for Netflix, Fortune reported that some 11 million people streamed it on its opening weekend. It’s no wonder Netflix would want to re-team with them for more projects.

Stay tuned for latest news on this new iteration of The Three Musketeers, and more from Netflix!
