Aaron Paul Plays Coy About The BREAKING BAD Movie

Read Time:1 Minute, 38 Second

A Breaking Bad sequel is coming in the form of a movie. We know it will star Aaron Paul, reprising his role as Jesse Pinkman. We exclusively revealed that other Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul alums would also be cast. We know that it is going by the name Greenbriar right now, and that it will air on Netflix first, then AMC. Despite all of that, Paul is still acting like its just a rumor.

Talking to Uproxx, Paul talks about the movie, saying “rumors are funny” but if there was one, it would naturally have to focus on Jesse.

“Rumors are funny — I once heard a rumor that I was being cast as Han Solo. I haven’t heard anything about the Breaking Bad movie but if there is one and it comes together I’d love to be a part of it.” He added, “If it were to happen, yes, I would love to do it. In case you haven’t caught up on the TV series, Walter dies, so…it has to star Jesse.”

He might not be allowed to say anything of course, so let’s not jump on his case too much. But the comments he’s made do lend itself to being the sequel we all think it will be.

Fun fact: While Paul never played Han Solo, he did play Luke Skywalker in a live script reading of The Empire Strikes Back from new Ghostbusters director Jason Reitman. So he has a bit of Star Wars cred.

We should be getting an official word on this sooner rather than later. It is not uncommon for talent involved in a high profile, secret project to lie about said project until being given permission to discuss it freely.

For now though, it’s nice that Paul is keeping things close to the chest. I’m sure Vince Gilligan has many secrets planned, and the less revealed before its release, the better.
