Harrelson Feels Lucky To Be In ZOMBIELAND 2, Says Making It Has Been ‘Unbelievable’

Read Time:1 Minute, 30 Second

Woody Harrelson is in the middle of shooting Zombieland 2 right now, but took some time away to work on the promotion of his upcoming Netflix film for The Highwaymen. EW caught up with him at SXSW, where he gave some details on how production on the sequel to Zombieland is going.

Harrelson said he’s “really impressed” with what they’ve shot so far. He also spoke on his returning cast members and the returning director.

“Getting to hang out with these guys — Emma, and Abbie, and Jesse, and Ruben — I feel so lucky, really, really lucky. You know, it’s literally laughing all day long, and that’s your job. Like, my job is, I laugh all day long? It seems unbelievable. So, I feel really lucky right now.”

Harrelson seems to be having loads of fun returning to the franchise. He’s returning with Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, and director Ruben Fleischer. Newcomers to the cast include Zoey Deutch (Before I Fall), Rosario Dawson (Daredevil), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), and Luke Wilson (Idiocracy).

The original Zombieland premiered in 2009, and struck a cord at the box office for the original take on the typical somber zombie movie genre. The Zombieland 2 crew has tackled its return with pure awesomeness, premiering the movie’s title with a meme. The movie will include three new types of zombies, and reportedly cameos from two ghostbusters. The film should be began filming in January, so they should be finishing up soon. The movie is set to premiere October 11, 2019.

Harrelson was also asked about the sequel to Venom, where when asked if he could reveal anything, he laughingly said “No!”.

It sounds like Zombieland 2 is going to end up a great sequel to the original. What do you think?
