WB Announces Release Dates For THE BATMAN, DOCTOR SLEEP, SUICIDE SQUAD, and THE WITCHES
There has been an influx of news lately as to new movies that are happening, and updates on movies that desperately needed one. Now thanks to Warner Bros announcing some release dates, we have some concrete time frames for these projects.
First up, The Batman. While it won’t star Ben Affleck, it will come out June 25, 2021. The movie still has to cast, shoot, and edit in that time, so it is on the clock. Matt Reeves is directing, and it’s said to be an epic detective story.
Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining is on the way too. It is getting released a bit earlier than originally anticipated, instead of January 24, 2020, we will now get it this year, on November 8. The Stand is being developed for TV, so King is dominating in all forms of media.
Robert Zemeckis is making an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Witches. Warner Bros has set that to be released on October 16, 2020. The movie will star Anne Hathaway as the head witch.
The animated movie DC Super Pets has a prime spot, opening May 21, 2021. If you’ve ever wanted to see a move starring Krypto the Super Dog and Ace The Bat Hound, you don’t have to wait too much longer.
James Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie, apparently just titled The Suicide Squad, will be released on August 6 2021. He has signed up to write the film, and is in negotiations to direct it as well.
WB also has 2 unknown films slotted into release dates. One for July 16, 2021 for which Deadline says the movie is “a big title, big stars and four-quad play“. The other is slotted for October 1, 2021, and is only described as an “event” film
So if you were excited for any of these films, now you know when you can expect them.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated if we hear anymore on the two mystery titles.
