Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron Comedy FLARKSY Gets Moved Up

Read Time:1 Minute, 17 Second

In this age where practically every big film being released at the box office is part of a franchise, a sequel, a reboot or a remake, there’s something to be said about potentially great new original films being released. For fans of comedy, there’s some potentially exciting news: Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron are starring together in a new original comedy film called Flarsky (for now). And the film has officially has a new release date!

Flarsky has reportedly been bumped up from a June 7th release date to May 3rd. Having officially landed a premiere at SXSW, Lionsgate seems quite confident in their new comedy film, directed by Jonathan Levine, who previously worked with Rogen on films such as 2011’s 50/50 and 2015’s The Night Before. Reportedly the film focuses on the romance between a partying reporter (Rogen) and a well-respected diplomat with high ambitions (Theron) as the two try to hide their relationship.

Despite the new release date, I couldn’t seem to find a trailer for the film, although I wager we’ll be getting one in the near future since it’s set to hit theaters in just a few months’ time. Nonetheless, I’m intrigued by this film and am excited to hear that a studio is feeling confident in a new film not centered around a pre-existing IP.

What do you think? Are you interested in seeing Flarsky (or whatever its final title might be) in theaters? Be sure to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below!
