DJ Khaled Joins Cast Of BAD BOYS FOR LIFE

After many years of anticipation, the new Bad Boys film is on its way! Over the past several months, the new sequel titled Bad Boys For Life has quickly stoked up traction with veteran actors such as Martin Lawrence, Will Smith and Joe Pantoliano reprising their roles from the first two films. Additionally Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Charles Melton were all cast late last month as members of a new specialized police force. We also recently got our first synopsis for the sequel not too long ago either. Now another newcomer has been named for the project!

Variety reports that DJ Khaled has joined the main cast for the film. However the site notes that the famous music producer’s role in the film currently remains a mystery. Khaled has recently been stepping into the world of acting in other upcoming films such as Jamie Foxx’s comedy drama All Star Weekend and also provided his voice in the upcoming animated film Spies in Disguise.

I find this to be an interesting choice. I’m not very familiar with Khaled myself, save for the obvious “Congratulations, you played yourself” meme, but I’m always intrigued by newcomers to the acting world or established actors trying something notably different from what audiences are accustomed to from them. Consider Dave Bautista’s transition from a WWE wrestler to a very promising character actor, for instance. Let’s see what Khaled can do!
