Change is in the wind for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The exciting first trailer for Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Far From Home was released yesterday, giving audiences their first peek at a Post-Avengers: Endgame world. While it’s practically a given that everyone that perished in the Snap at the end of Infinity War will return, fans are still speculating which members of the original lineup that survived will fall during the grand finale of the past decade’s worth of MCU films. After all, it’s been well established that fans will be saying farewell to certain veterans of the franchise for good here and that a new lineup will emerge in its wake. And now a new rumor has emerged that offers exciting possibilities for how that could work.
WeGotThisCovered reports that Marvel Studios are currently in the early stages of developing a New Avengers film for Phase 4. Fascinatingly though, the lineup for said-New Avengers film is actually comprised of heroes best known in the comics as the Young Avengers. The new team will reportedly be comprised of Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye, Iron Lad, Hulkling, Patriot, Wiccan, Stature and Vision (though the site notes that this is not Paul Bettany’s version).
I quite like this angle personally. There was talk sometime ago that a Hawkeye movie or series for Disney+ was in the works that would focus on Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton training a new Hawkeye who would most likely be Kate Bishop. Perhaps that will be how audiences are introduced to Bishop and then see her transition over into the New Avengers along with the other teammates?
