First Trailer For Jordan Peele’s New Series WEIRD CITY Is Out!

Read Time:1 Minute, 25 Second

Jordan Peele is quite a busy man these days. Whether it’s finishing up work on his upcoming sophomore directorial film Us, working on the first season of his Twilight Zone reboot, producing a new version of Candyman or even possibly talking Disney into doing a live action adaptation of Gargoyles (lowered expectations there for now), Peele has been one of the most frequent names to come up in film news these days. Now one of Peele’s previously announced projects has resurfaced with a new trailer!

Back in the summer, Peele announced that he was collaborating with YouTube for a new original sci-fi comedy anthology series titled Weird City, which would reunite the comedic actor-turned-thriller filmmaker with some of his old cohorts on Key & Peele. Now fans of Peele finally have their first look at the show via YouTube Originals.

Watch the trailer right here:

The trailer reminds me quite a bit of Terry Gilliam’s Orwellian parody Brazil, as well as several skits from Key & Peele. Unlike other anthology shows such as Black Mirror or The Twilight Zone, all of the episodes in the trailer for Weird City are clearly set in the same world as one another. Set in the titular metropolis named Weird, there apparently is no such thing as a ‘middle class’ and instead splits the population between two sides of the Line.

Personally I’m intrigued to see how the show turns out. It has a rather massive cast of big names including the likes of Levar Burton, Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Dylan O’Brien and many others.
