Former Wolverine Posts Workout, Internet Erupts ‘HUGH JACKMAN TO TEH MCU!1!!’

Read Time:1 Minute, 53 Second

I like full circles. This Friday marks the one year anniversary of being approached to write for RTF. A few weeks later, I would post my first (and most click-baity) story, concerning Wolverine in Infinity War. Of course, that didn’t happen, but it was fun to think about.

Here I am, almost a year later with a very similar story, yet with more evidence that Hugh Jackman may reprise his role as Wolverine. The only reason I am even writing this is due to the timing of it.

Jackman posted this seemingly innocuous tweet of him working out on Twitter.

The dude is in shape, so of course he works out. But to work out at that level with teams of people around him make it seem like it is for something important.

So does one of the hashtags he put on the tweet. 5 letters. Just 5.

#cameo

The actor who has played Wolverine since 2000, had a nearly perfect swan song with 2017’s Logan. So if he is returning, it better be for a very good reason.

The obvious answer is a future Deadpool project. But as cool as that would be, people are hoping it is for Avengers: Endgame. With the fate of the Fox Marvel casts up in the air, due to the Disney merger, it is hard to believe that Jackman would be training for a future Fox movie. That would only leave an MCU appearance.

However, if it just a cameo, why such a heavy workout? He made a cameo in X-Men: First Class before, and he did not need to be on the strict regiment it requires to play the role when all he was doing was sitting at a bar and cursing.

Just because it is the best- NSFW!- cameo ever, check out the clip of it right here.

Truthfully, I don’t think there is anything to this. But we’d be remiss not to wonder. Jackman knows exactly what he is doing, and what the reaction to this would be. So he’s probably sitting there laughing in between godlike workouts.

Don’t hold your breath, but crazier things have happened.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters April 26th.
