Feige Comments On James Gunn Going To DC To Make SUICIDE SQUAD 2

Read Time:1 Minute, 18 Second

Marvel honcho Kevin Feige has been fairly tight-lipped about one of the biggest stories that rocked his studio in 2018: The firing of James Gunn by Disney from Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 and how that paved the path for the director to go to DC Entertainment to make a new Suicide Squad film.

Depending on who you ask, that may have something to do with him being vehemently against the reactionary decision by his bosses at Disney. They fired Gunn for some old, disturbing jokes made on his twitter account, and rumors have long persisted that Feige thinks it was an outrageous move, hence why he’s kept some distance from the situation publicly.

Regardless of whether or not that’s true, at last night’s Golden Globes, the producer was definitely in the mood to play nice about the situation. When asked to comment on the matter, now that Gunn is set to play for Marvel’s perceived “rival,” aka DC Entertainment, here’s what he said:

“I went to see Aquaman last night and I really, really enjoyed it. And you know me, I’ve always supported [them]. I don’t see a rivalry, I see cool films being made. And one thing you know about James Gunn, he makes cool films.”

A very diplomatic response from a producer who seems to know how to play the political game over in Hollywood.

During the exchange, he also touched on the status of Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 and other Marvel projects, when you can read about HERE.
