Netflix’s DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE Announces An All Out All-Star Cast

Read Time:1 Minute, 18 Second

Dark Crystal belongs on a special shelf in your collection of 80s films (if you even own any physical media in this day and age). You’d put it beside other cult classics like The Neverending Story, Labyrinth, and Legend– i.e. family films filled with intriguing animatronics and far out costumes and landscapes. And yet even this somewhat obscure cult classic is getting a fresh coat of paint when Netflix gives us the prequel series Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance next year.

Visually, the series will feature a combination of the classic Jim Henson style of puppetry and cutting edge digital technology, and now we’ve got some exciting news about how Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will sound. The voice cast for the series has been revealed, and it contains a bevy of stars of film and television.

The core trio of Rian, Brea, and Deet will be voiced by Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel. But the bigger story is their unbelievable supporting cast:

Helena Bonham-Carter, Toby Jones, Alicia Vikander, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Theo James, Shazad Latif, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mark Strong, Harvey Fierstein, Mark Hamill, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Simon Pegg!

In addition to unveiling this stellar voice cast for Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Netflix also released three official stills from the production depicting the three main characters:

What do you think of these stills, and of that cast? You excited to check out Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance next year on Netflix?
