SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME: A New Synopsis Has Been Released

Read Time:1 Minute, 56 Second

Last week we got a Captain Marvel and an Avengers: Endgame trailer. There were whispering and rumors of getting a Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer too. Well the general public did not get one, but Marvel did show a trailer for their Spider-Man sequel at Brazil’s CCXP. That coupled with the new synopsis, offers us  glimpse into what this movie will be (there will be descriptions from the trailer here, so don’t read if you consider that to be a spoiler.)

ComicBook.com brought a Russian press site to our attention, that has the synopsis for Far From Home:

“Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and his friends go on summer holidays to Europe. However, the friends will hardly be able to rest — Peter will have to agree to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of creatures that cause natural disasters and destruction throughout the continent.”

ComicBook.com also has details on the trailer. The trailer shows Fury giving Peter the stealth suit, since he travelled to Europe without his. The most interesting thing though, is that Mysterio (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) is also a “hero” that Fury enlists to help him. So Mysterio and Spider-Man are teamed up together at first…. They are searching for “Elementals”, which are “elemental creatures”. Mysterio knows about them, and Fury is trying to protect people from them.

I’m sure we will see the trailer eventually. There is no word on where in the timeline this takes place. While I feel this will be post Infinity War/Endgame, it could very well before those events. It is not unprecedented – Ant-Man and The Wasp took place before Infinity War for the most part. Either way, it feels like we are in for a treat with this one. We now have 4 different Spider-Man movie franchises that exist (2 are over, and 1 is animated, but it’s still a lot of Spidey!)  and people are still clamoring for more. The team up between Marvel Studios and Sony is a stroke of genius, and hopefully the Tom Holland iteration of the character will be around for years to come.

Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters July 5. 2019. (The third MCU flick of the year, after Captain Marvel in March and Avengers: Endgame in April!)
