Things are starting to heat up for Disney’s upcoming Disney+ streaming service! Production on Jon Favreau’s live action Star Wars series The Mandalorian is underway, while other mini-series based on Star Wars and MCU characters such as Rogue One‘s Cassian Andor, Loki, Scarlet Witch, Falcon and Winter Soldier are all in the works. Meanwhile rumors are running around that fans might get to see fan-favorite Kate Bishop debut in the MCU via a Hawkeye solo movie or mini-series too. Now yet another possible series for the streaming service is being rumored!
Word on the cyber-street is that Marvel Studios might possibly be working on a mini-series that will follow Guardians of the Galaxy fan-faves Rocket Raccoon and Groot. As with most rumors, it’s always wise to take this with a grain of salt.
However if this story is true, I’d personally be excited for it. With all of the uncertainty and drama surrounding Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 right now, taking some time to focus on two of the team’s members in a short series would be a great way to keep fans satisfied until everything surrounding the third film is sorted out. Heck, maybe Kevin Feige could let Bradley Cooper write and direct one of the episodes? His work on A Star Is Born was fantastic and it’d be interesting to see him try his hand at the comedic space opera genre that Guardians is rooted in.
