Billie Lourd Says STAR WARS: EPISODE IX Will Be ‘Magical’

Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

The past two years or so have been a bit rough for Star Wars fans. First Carrie Fisher’s tragic and untimely death. Then came the extensive debates over whether or not Star Wars: The Last Jedi was good and the underwhelming box office performance from Solo: A Star Wars Story. And now fans have a little over a year left to wait before the Sequel Trilogy finally reaches its conclusion with J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode IX. Details remain scarce and it’s unlikely we’ll learn much about the film until next spring.

However Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd, who plays side-character Kaydel Ko Connix in the new trilogy, spoke about some of her thoughts for the final chapter in this trilogy. Lourd said, “I gotta watch myself because the Star Wars PD is going to come get me, but it is incredible. I’ve read the script and I’ve been on set. I was on set for, like, three weeks back in September, and it is going to be magical. I can’t say much more, but I’m so excited about it and so grateful to be a part of it. Star Wars is my heart. I love it.

I’m cautiously excited for Episode IX. I really liked The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, but I do admit that it’s tricky to think of a totally satisfying and logical narrative conclusion to the story told thus far. That’s both a good thing and a bad thing. On the one hand, it’s great not to be able to fully predict where the plot goes next. At the same time, that seems to suggest more of a chance for Star Wars: Episode IX to drop the ball.
