AQUAMAN: New International Posters Are Jaw-Droppingly Gorgeous

Read Time:1 Minute, 44 Second

With James Wan’s sweeping DC epic Aquaman set to arrive in theaters next month, the promotional campaign is kicking off in a big way as Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment prepare to make their final pitch. They’ve just released several new international posters and we’re sure you’re going to love them. Fittingly, for a film about the King of The Sea, there are seven of them:

As you can see, Wan and his design team are really embracing the gorgeous colors of this seafaring adventure. Lots of gorgeous contrasts against a dynamic blue that make these characters pop like never before, in a way that makes it truly look like a comic book come to life.

Included in these new international posters for Aquaman are Jason Momoa’s Arthur, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren’s King Nereus, Patrick Wilson’s Orm, Amber Heard’s Mera, Nicole Kidman’s Atlanna, and Willem Dafoe’s Vulko.

The film hopes to make its mark here in the states on a very competitive release date, which will see it going head-to-head with the Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, the latest Will Ferrell-John C. Reilly comedy Holmes and Watson, and Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns (which comes out two days earlier on a Wednesday). The date in question is December 21, which also means it’ll be opening just a week after Sony’s animated Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse film.

So the landscape will definitely be crowded, but Aquaman has all the makings of a great cinematic event. The buzz on the film is positive, and Warner Bros. seems supremely confident about the film- which will be the first DC Entertainment theatrical release since last November’s Justice League.

The powers that be are looking at James Wan’s film to help usher in a whole new wave of cinematic success for DC.

What do you think of these posters?
