Jamie Lee Curtis has been in some pretty impressive films over the years. Never mind that her debut film was John Carpenter’s legendary Halloween. She’s also been in The Fog, True Lies, Freaky Friday, Trading Places and A Fish Called Wanda for instance! And now, hot on the heels of the new Halloween sequel being a smash hit, Curtis is set to join a film that shows more and more promise by the week: Knives Out.
After news came out that Blade Runner 2049 star Ana de Armas had been cast for a role, Variety is now reporting that Curtis has also been cast for an unknown role in Rian Johnson’s next film Knives Out. Variety added that Knives Out “is a modern-day murder mystery in the classic whodunit style, infused with Johnson’s original voice that informed films from “Brick” to “Looper.” Craig will star as a detective assigned to solve the crime. Details about Curtis’ character remain unknown.”
I can’t wait to see this movie whenever it comes out, as I quite adore Rian Johnson’s work as a filmmaker. Yes, even Star Wars: The Last Jedi. His way of updating classic cinema into the modern world is something I really enjoy watching. If you’ve never seen his debut film Brick, I highly recommend checking it out.
And of course, it all goes back to Curtis herself. While we know that Craig is the lead star of this film, I’m sure that whatever Curtis’ role in Knives Out is, she’ll crush it. Be it serious, comical or something in-between, we’ve seen Curtis deliver across the board for years now.
