DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Will Crossover With…Themselves
Legends of Tomorrow is the Arrowverse’s most ambitious show. It is unashamedly ridiculous, and it is better for it.
While the rest of the Arrowverse will crossover to see the introduction of Batwoman, the Legends will not be a part of that. Instead, they will crossover with a way more interesting group – themselves.
But as Legends showrunner Keto Shimizu told TVLine at The CW’s Fall Launch event held Sunday night at the Warner Bros. lot, “During the week that all the other crossovers are happening, we will essentially be crossing over with ourselves,” in an episode that will traverse “alternate time periods.”
The cast sounds like they are excited for it.
“That particular episode is insane,” attested Legends lead Caity Lotz, who added: “I think they wanted to do something special since we weren’t going to be doing the [‘Elseworlds’] crossovers.”
That sounds like the perfect, campy fun that the Legends have embraced in the past. The only time the banter between the team could get better is if it was between themselves instead.
DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow returns Monday, October 22 on The CW
After defeating the demon Mallus by cuddling him to death with a giant stuffed animal named Beebo, the Legends are ready to ease off the gas. Sara (Caity Lotz) and her team join Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan) and the Time Bureau to help clean up the last few remaining anachronisms. The job seems straightforward enough until Constantine (Matt Ryan) arrives to inform them that, in solving one major problem, they have created another, much larger one. When the Legends let time crumble in order to release and defeat Mallus, the barrier between worlds softened. History is now infected with “Fugitives” – magical creatures from myths, fairytales, and legends. Having been expelled throughout time by people like Constantine, these Fugitives are now returning to our world in droves and making a real mess of things. As the Time Bureau is distrustful of and ill-equipped to deal with magic, the Legends must team up with everyone’s favorite demonologist to set history back on track.
