ARROW: Amell Hints At A Secret Returning Character!
This season, Arrow will feel different than what fans are used to. The characters are in places that we’ve never seen them. They are trying to pick up the pieces from the events of last year.
The biggest change of course, is that Oliver Queen is now in prison, and what he has to deal with in there might be tougher than anything he’s faced on the outside. ComicBook.com has comments from Arrow star Stephen Amell, and he say’s something quite interesting. While the preview makes it seem like Team Arrow visits him all the time, Amell says that is not the case.
“After the premiere, we really isolate Oliver,” Amell said, suggesting that he gets very few visitors after tonight’s season opener. “He goes a long time without interacting with really any familiar face. I have enjoyed the couple of visitors that I’ve had. I actually had one recently with a character that I haven’t had a sit-down scene with in some time, and it was really fun to work with them again.”
Most of his interactions will be with people that are in the prison with them, including one that is not in the previews, and that people do not know about:
“He finds some enemies that you would expect to be his enemies in prison, but we also have him team up with a few unexpected people, and those scenes have been fun,” Amell said. “We have a new character, Stanley, that we meet in the pilot and he and Oliver sort of form an unlikely alliance. We also have someone come back that I know we were able to slip through without anyone knowing about it, and it was really really exciting to work with that character.“
Who that could be is anyone’s guess. But the show has made itself quite the rogues gallery, so your guess is as good as mine.
I’m hoping it’s Slade Wilson or Deadshot, but I doubt it. It will be fun to find out.
The seventh season of Arrow premieres TONIGHT on The CW!
“There has been no shortage of close calls for Oliver Queen when it comes to protecting his Super Hero identity, but in the season six finale, he was finally backed into a corner and forced to reveal himself to the world as the Green Arrow. Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.”
