See The Poster And First Teaser For Disney’s Live Action ALADDIN!

Read Time:1 Minute, 50 Second

Disney is remaking their entire animated catalogue into live action films it seems. We’ve seen The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella just to name a few. Now we are getting our first look at the live action Aladdin as well, which you can see below:

The word “teaser” is perfect here. The aesthetics are great, and the music is spot on. It really feels like the animated film comes to life. We get a glimpse of Iago, and our hero (Mena Massoud) grabbing the lamp. It was a great little taste. This is not meant to be a full trailer, which we will need more from, when that hits.

Will Smith, who plays the Genie, also dropped the first poster yesterday on his Facebook account:

LEMME OUT!! Can’t wait for y’all to see Me BLUE! 🧞 #aladdin

Guy Ritchie directed film. What do you think of this first look? Does it get you excited to explore Agrabah again?

Here is a rundown of the full cast:

Aladdin” stars Will Smith as the larger-than-life Genie; Mena Massoud as the charming scoundrel Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine, the beautiful, self-determined princess; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, the powerful sorcerer; Navid Negahban as the Sultan concerned with his daughter’s future; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Princess Jasmine’s free-spirited best friend and confidante; Billy Magnussen as the handsome and arrogant suitor Prince Anders; and Numan Acar as Hakim, Jafar’s right-hand man and captain of the palace guards.

I think its great that the cast is ethnically appropriate. If this was made in the 90s Aladdin would be Leo DiCaprio, and Jasmine would be Drew Barrymore, or something like that. This is much better.

Aladdin hits theaters May 24, 2019.

Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”
