Matt Bomer Cast In DOOM PATROL As Negative Man

Read Time:1 Minute, 58 Second

Matt Bomer is one of those names that often would get tossed around for a superhero role, primarily Superman. After years of fan casting Bomer as Superman, we can finally put that to rest and accept it isn’t going to happen. Instead, he will portray another DC hero, Negative Man. Bomer is just the latest and likely the final casting addition to the already impressive Doom Patrol series for the DC Universe streaming service. New York Comic-Con (NYCC) starts today, and as part of the Titans panel, Brendan Frasier revealed the most recent casting. Bomer appeared on screen wearing fighter pilot jump suit and possibly filming on location.

Negative Man is set to appear in Titans and is being portrayed by Dwain Murphy, what isn’t clear about Bomer’s casting is whether he will replace Murphy on Titans. Like most of the initial castings for the Doom Patrol on Titans, many have been recast for the spin-off series, but with Negative Man being wrapped in rags, we may not even see his human form on Titans. Bomer is set to appear in flashbacks as Larry Trainor prior to the accident that changed him and will continue to voice Negative Man in the present with the characters physical appearance being portrayed by Mathew Zuk.

It seems someone may have either been misinformed or jumped the gun as a brief reveal of December 12 release date for the series was given. DC Universe PR quickly corrected that and confirmed no release date has been decided for Doom Patrol yet. As of now, we can expect a TBD tag on this series until we hear otherwise.

Bomer joins Doom Patrol’s already impressive cast thus far with Timothy Dalton, Alan Tudyk, Brendan Fraser, Joivan Wade, and Diane Guerrero. Doom Patrol will first appear this season on an episode Titans, which premieres October 12.
