UPDATE: KRYPTON Has Found Its LOBO (Now With Official Image!)

Read Time:1 Minute, 34 Second

I watched the first episode of Syfy’s Krypton, and while I thought it was decent, it didn’t really draw me in, so I haven’t seen any other episodes. From what I hear it’s a better show than what people were expecting. Syfy must be happy with it as they’ve renewed it for a second season, and they’re bringing in a fan-favorite character, too, in Lobo.

At Comic Con this year they announced the big bad for season two would be none other than Scourge o’ The Cosmos. Syfy didn’t, however, announce who would be playing the part…

Until today.

Here’s your Lobo, in a newly-released official image:

That’s Emmett J. Scanlan. Looking over his acting credits, it looks like his biggest film was Guardians of the Galaxy, where he played “Head Riot Guard.” I don’t know about you, but the depth he brought to that role made the entire film worth watching. His other acting credits include parts in the Snatch TV series and Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands.

For those of you not familiar with the character, Lobo is a “ruthless bounty hunter who murdered his entire species… a dangerous force of nature, a motorcycle-riding loudmouth who is virtually immortal and possesses superhuman strength.”

He sounds like a lovely guy.

There was a time, way back when, when Dwayne Johnson was going to play Lobo in a feature film. That fell apart, which will now give Scanlan a chance to really put his stamp on the character, who fans have been dying to see in the flesh for years. I’ve heard Krypton did a phenomenal job with Brainiac, so I can only assume they’re going to do The Main Man justice, too.

Are you a fan of Lobo? Are you excited to finally see him realized in live action? Let us know in the comments below!
