Disney Is Planning A Live-Action LILO & STITCH?

Read Time:1 Minute, 26 Second

We have just learned that Disney is now adding yet another beloved animated film to its ever-growing live-action remake collection. Lilo & Stitch is being produced by the team bringing next years live action remake of Aladdin.

Lilo & Stitch was the first Disney film’s post-Renaissance era to reach mainstream success. Disney’s Renaissance era had a string of critical and commercial success with films such as the Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Hercules, Mulan and Tarzan. At the time the films brought a hugely popular resurgence for Walt Disney Animation after years of their films failing to meet the commercial success they did when the Disney Brothers were alive.

Disney’s post-Renaissance era saw lackluster performances for the majority of the early 2000’s except for Lilo & Stitch. Naturally, Disney’s remaking of high-profile films would bring them to Lilo & Stitch over other films of that era.

Now what isn’t clear is whether this film will be grace the silver screen like most modern-day remakes or join the Lady & the Tramp live action remake on the Disney Streaming Service. Lilo & Stitch, like Lady and The Tramp will combine both live action and CGI to bring the non-human characters to life.

If Lilo & Stitch is destined for the Disney Streaming Service it joins the Star Wars TV series which may feature Pedro Pascal as series lead, and Lady & the Tramp which recently added Tessa Thompson to its cast. Does this newest addition to the list of live-action remakes excite you? What else would you like to see? Sound off on the comment section below.
