Winston Duke Signs On For a Trip To WONDERLAND With Mark Wahlberg
Hot on the heels of his casting in the action-thriller Heroine, Black Panther‘s Winston Duke has lined up yet another major role. Variety is reporting that Duke has signed on for Netflix’s Wonderland. The film is based on the novel by Ace Atkins and features the late Robert B Parker’s Spenser character.
Duke will play Hawk, best friend to Spenser. Peter Berg (Lone Survivor, Patriot’s Day) is directing, so of course Mark Wahlberg will star.
From Variety:
The story follows Spenser who, fresh out of prison, is sucked back into Boston’s underbelly as he uncovers the truth about a sensational murder and the twisted conspiracy behind it.
Spenser is arguably Parker’s best known character and is featured in over 48 of the author’s bestsellers. Robert Urich portrayed Spencer in the popular 80s TV series Spenser: For Hire that ran on ABC from 1985-1988.
Neil H Moritz will produce under his Original Film Banner with Stephen Levinson, Wahlberg and Berg under his Film 44 company.
Are you looking forward to this new version of Spenser? Do you think Walhberg will be able to fit the bill or will you be longing for Robert Urich? Are you excited about the continued ascension of Winston Duke, who made his presence felt in Black Panther earlier this year
