Rosario Dawson Wants To Be In The Picard STAR TREK Series

Read Time:1 Minute, 49 Second

There is a new Star Trek show being developed for CBS All Access. It will star Patrick Stewart – reprising his role as Jean Luc Picard, 20 years later. Not much is known about the series, but there is someone who wants a part of it – Rosario Dawson.

At the Tribeca TV Festival, Inverse reports that Dawson proclaimed her love for Star Trek, and said she is down to appear in the new series.

“I grew up loving Star Trek and I’m still waiting for my holodeck,” Dawson said  “My favorite is Next Generation because of Jean-Luc Picard. If they need a Klingon for the new series, well, have you seen my fivehead?”

Dawson might be free to do so. Her schedule used to be very busy with the Marvel Netflix series. But in the latest season of Luke Cage see seemed to be gone. While she can make a return, Claire’s story might be over. She was not in Iron Fist season 2. Misty Knight filled the role Claire would have originally. Dawson has mentioned that she wanted to spend more time with her family, but also said she wanted to appear in The Punisher so she appeared in all of the shows.

The new show doesn’t seem to involve the rest of the cast from The Next Generation but I wouldn’t rule out appearances completely. I would think that they would want to establish the show on its own first, then they can bring old cast members back once the show has a solid identity.

The show is making progress, yesterday Patrick Stewart took to Twitter to show them having a writers meeting.

I love Rosario Dawson. I hope this happens, as I would love to see her embedded into geek culture even further. This is not the only universe I am hoping she returns to though – when Kevin Smith gets to filming Jay And Silent Bob: Reboot, I hope she cameos as her character from Clerks II.

Would you like to see Rosario Dawson in the Picard series? If she is, it might be about time I subscribe to CBS All Access.
