Mary Poppins Returns will sail into theaters this Christmas, and it looks like Disney is getting ready to unleash the hype machine for the sequel that’s been 54 years in the making!

As such, they’ve just released a new trailer for the film as well as a new poster for it. You can check out both, as well as an official synopsis for Mary Poppins Returns, right here:

In Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns,” an all new original musical and sequel, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Emily Blunt stars as thepractically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.
And here’s the poster:

The sequel has a ton of talent around it. Behind the camera, there’s the respected director Chicago and Into The Woods, Rob Marshall. In front of it, you’ve got the considerable acting talents of Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Colin Firth, and Meryl Streep!

The trailer is filled with the same magical, musical whimsey as the original Mary Poppins starring Julie Andrews, and is sure to be a smash with families looking for a heartwarming adventure this holiday season.

Mary Poppins Returns will open on December 19- a very crowded date that also includes Aquaman, Bumblebee, and Alita: Battle Angel.

Which film will you be seeing that day?
