This Year’s ARROWVERSE CROSSOVER Will Feature Another Kryptonian

Read Time:1 Minute, 52 Second

It is common knowledge by now that Team Arrow, Team Flash, and Team Supergirl will encounter Batwoman in Gotham City during this year’s Arrowverse crossover event. While other information is sparse, like which Earth this will take place on, we do know other things. Namely, that Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman (and Lois Lane!) will appear in all 3 episodes of the crossover. However, Kara and he might not be the only two Kryptonians to appear.

That Hashtag Show has casting breakdowns for two characters that you can see below:

[LON-EL] Male, 40s (with the potential to play older than their actual age), open ethnicity. A mysterious visitor who is from another planet and is both ambiguous, inscrutable and has the power that is teased as nearly infinite. Potential to appear for post-crossover episodes of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl as well as Legends of Tomorrow, some as just a small cameo.

[DR. ELIAS KERN] Male, 30s, open ethnicity. A psychiatrist with his own mental health problems, Dr. Kern is a brutal sociopath who appears to be starting to lose his grip on reality. This recurring guest star will be present in all three episodes of the crossover.

Neither of these names ring a bell, and that is because That Hashtag Show thinks they are placeholder names for the real characters. Their guess? Lon-El is actually Jor-El, Superman’s father.

While that is possible, I don’t see how he would apply to Arrow, The Flash, or Legends of Tomorrow after the big Arrowverse crossover, unless Superman visits all of those shows as well. Not to mention that there might be some rights issues with the Krypton show over on Syfy. I think a better option would be a Superman from a different Earth. Maybe even one that landed in Russia instead of Kansas, which would parallel the “Red Son” storyline that Supergirl will adapt this season.

As for the second character, that could be anyone. It could even be someone who is completely made up for this crossover, and not based off an already established character.

The Arrowverse crossover will air over three consecutive nights, starting on December 9th.

Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl all return in October.
