Bruce Boxleitner Is Replacing Brent Spiner on SUPERGIRL
It wasn’t that long ago when it was announced that Brent Spiner would be playing the Vice President on the upcoming season of Supergirl. But sadly, we will never see that happen now.
The Twitter account for Warner Bros TV made the announcement:
Bruce Boxleitner will be joining the cast of #Supergirl this season in the recurring role of Vice President Baker! pic.twitter.com/vAA5SMdhb5

TVLine adds that Spiner had to forfeit the role “due to family issues conflicting with the show’s production dates“.
The role of Vice President Baker that Boxleitner is inheriting will not be changed due to the recasting.
Described as “adept and politically minded,” Baker proves himself to be an “unlikely leader [who] steps up in a big way when his country needs him most.”
Boxleitner is best known for his roles in Tron and Bablyon 5. Now he can add the Arrowverse to his impressive nerd resume.
As much fun as it would have been to see Spiner in the role, it is still in good hands with Boxleitner.
If the Vice President is this important in the season, that makes things seem ominous for the President, who is played by original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter. In a season that is adapting the Red Son storyline, things could get very interesting for the Girl of Steel.
Supergirl returns Sunday, October 14 only on The CW.
Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.
