Ruby Rose Is ‘An Emotional Wreck’ Over Being Cast As BATWOMAN

Read Time:1 Minute, 28 Second

It was announced yesterday that Ruby Rose would be playing Batwoman in the next big Arrowverse crossover event later this year, which will lead to her own spinoff next year. The casting of the famous LGBT actress as the first-ever openly gay lead character in a superhero series was met with plenty of elation from the fan community. And now the actress herself has taken to social media to express just how much this has meant to her.

Over on Instagram, Rose posted this about her new gig as Batwoman in The CW’s Arrowverse:

“The Bat is out of the bag and I am beyond thrilled and honored. I’m also an emotional wreck.. because this is a childhood dream. This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on TV and felt alone and different.
Thank you everyone. Thank you god.”

This is certainly a big moment for Rose, for that community, and for proponents of inclusion in pop culture.

Rose will next be seen this Friday in The Meg, and her previous major credits include Netflix’s Orange is The New Black and John Wick: Chapter 2.

How are you feeling about Rose playing Batwoman?
