Zachary Levi Would Love For His SHAZAM To Take On Superman

Read Time:1 Minute, 52 Second

Zachary Levi will soon be seen as Shazam in the DCU. The trailer makes the movie look like a ton of fun, and if the trailer is an accurate representation of what the movie actually is then this will be the first of many appearances of for the original Captain Marvel in the DCU.

While promoting the movie, Levi told Entertainment Weekly that he would absolutely love to see Shazam square off against Superman in the future.

“Shazam and Superman have iconic battles throughout the history of the comic books, because Captain Marvel/Shazam is the only one who has a shot of beating Superman — and has. Listen, Cavill. I’m not trying to start anything, but don’t start nothing, there won’t be nothing….Yeah, that would be pretty fun to do that.”

Shazam v Superman: Dawn of Something could happen. That is of course, if Cavill reprises his role as Superman. There is always the possibility of them teaming up against Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam in the future as well.

What do you think? Levi can play Shazam for a long time. They might have to keep recasting the role Billy Batson though, depending on how long they want to keep him at that age.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
