Zack Snyder Is Currently In San Diego
Full disclosure: I’m probably the worst pick to write about this particular subject. I’m personally not a big fan of Zack Snyder as a filmmaker, though I respect his style and efforts in the craft. Moreover I personally have no interest in seeing the Snyder Cut of Justice League. That just isn’t something I’m personally keen to check out. With all of that said, I also recognize and respect that there are quite a few fans out there that disagree with my opinions entirely and that there is indeed an interest among fans to see the Snyder Cut. So let’s all gather around for a moment.
Twitter user @jesabelraay shared a screenshot of a post Snyder made on Vero, revealing that the director has checked in at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California. This information might seem irrelevant at first glance, but considering that this hotel is reportedly only seven miles away from the San Diego Convention Center. Aka the home of San Diego Comic Con, which just so happens to be happening later this week.
So does this mean fans of Snyder might finally get to see the cut of Justice League they’ve been wanting to see for over half a year now? Well, it’s hard to tell.
Director Jay Oliva recently did an interview with our very own MFR on the specifics of what a Snyder Cut could entail and the likelihood of such a project ever being officially released by Warner Bros. As far as anyone can tell, the long and short of it is that there is a “Snyder Cut” out there- but it’s not anywhere close to being finished and would require quite a hefty sum of money for Warner Bros to release a finished copy of the film, which is currently an unrealistic endeavor for the studio to delve into.
And yet, why would Snyder be attending San Diego Comic Con this year? I doubt it’s for his upcoming adaptation of Ayn Rand’s Fountainhead. Off the top of my head, the most logical answer is that Snyder is there to help promote Wonder Woman 1984, a film which still currently credits him as a producer. Or maybe Snyder’s just there to say hi to his old friends among the cast and crew of the DCU and wants to spend some time at the convention as a fan.
What do you think? Will fans finally get to see the Snyder Cut of Justice League at Hall H? Is it something else? Whatever your thoughts are, be sure to share them with us in the comments section down below!
