Nathan Fillion Is Teasing An UNCHARTED Project

Read Time:1 Minute, 46 Second

There were rumors of an Uncharted movie years ago. It never quite got off the ground, but fans were clamoring to see Nathan Fillion take the role of Nathan Drake – the protagonist of the Uncharted video game series.

On Fillion’s social media, he seems to be cryptically teasing some sort of Uncharted Project.

Yes, that is a picture of rapper Drake with the phrase “Sic Parvis Magna” and a date for next Monday. That saying, as The Wrap points out is “Latin for “Greatness from small beginnings,” and it was the motto of British privateer Sir Francis Drake”. Fans of the video game franchise will know that the Nathan Drake claims he is a descendant of Sir Francis, and also uses that motto.

If that wasn’t enough, Fillion folllowed that up with this:

Again, with the same date. Monday, July 16, 2018.

With San Diego Comic Con happening next week, we are sure to get a boatload of announcements. Could an Uncharted movie or TV show be one of them?

Of course, it could be something else. Another video game, using motion capture. There have been some very cinematic videogames lately, as the guys who are on our video game podcast: The Play It LOUDcast, will tell you. There have been actors who “star” in video games, and this could very well be that.

Also, I wouldn’t count out some sort of VR adventure, or an interactive “choose your own adventure” type activity hosted by Fillion.

Here is a synopsis of what the games are all about from The Wrap:

For those unfamiliar, the “Uncharted” series follow Drake, an Indiana Jones-ish thief and treasure hunter, as he trots the globe using his considerable archaeological and historical knowledge to chase down mythical artifacts and lost cities — and usually destroy them to keep warlords from using their secrets to conquer the world.

Whatever it is, it seems we will find out on Monday.

Are you excited for a new Uncharted project? What do you think it will be? Let us know!
