Tarantino’s STAR TREK Film To Star Abrams’ Cast, Says Zachary Quinto

Read Time:1 Minute, 38 Second

Not much is known about the pitch Quentin Tarantino gave for his Star Trek film. Would it focus on the Kelvin timeline version of the classic Enterprise crew led by Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk? Would it be set in the classic timeline? Would the timeline not matter at all and be about an entirely new cast and crew of characters instead?

Well, we might finally be getting an inkling of an idea on the matter. Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in the Kelvin timeline, says that Tarantino’s Star Trek film is indeed meant to star the current cast introduced almost ten years ago with J.J. Abrams’ 2009 reboot.

The actor said the following on the Happy Sad Confused podcast:

My assumption is that it is with us. That is how it has been presented…

… You know, until deals are done and contracts are signed and schedules are cleared, nothing is set in stone, so anything can happen. My understanding is Quentin had this idea and they were shaping it and forming it and he is off to do his Manson movie. And it would be after that, that we would go maybe do one with him. Which is pretty exciting, pretty cool.

In the meantime, fans will have to wait and see what happens. Nothing is set in stone with this particular film from Tarantino and Star Trek 4 itself is currently slated to be helmed by S.J. Clarkson and is rumored to see Pine’s Kirk reunite with his deceased father, played by Chris Hemsworth in the 2009 entry from J.J. Abrams.

What do you think? Do you still hope Tarantino’s Star Trek film manages to happen at some point? Would you rather the film focus on a different crew? Whatever your thoughts, be sure to share them with us in the comments section down below!
