Denzel Is A Cabbie Worthy Of A 5-Star Rating In New Trailer For THE EQUALIZER 2
In 2014, Antoine Fuqua gave us a hyper-violent cinematic adaptation of the 1980s TV series The Equalizer, and he did so with his Training Day star Denzel Washington front and center. The film did some significant business and so, just as Sony had hoped, a franchise was born. The duo is preparing to launch the sequel to their action flick, titled simply The Equalizer 2, next month and Sony’s just released the second trailer for it.
You can check out the new The Equalizer 2 trailer right here:
Denzel Washington returns to one of his signature roles in the first sequel of his career. Robert McCall serves an unflinching justice for the exploited and oppressed – but how far will he go when that is someone he loves?
The premise for the sequel finds Washington’s Robert McCall working as a taxi driver for Lyft when he suddenly stumbles across a situation in need of…equalizing.
The Equalizer 2 will surround Washington with some other notable cast mates, including Melissa Leo, Pedro Pascal, and Bill Pullman.
It’s interesting to see the official synopsis for the film reveal an interesting bit of trivia: In his entire career, which has spanned decades now, Washington has never appeared in a sequel. Kind of says a lot about what the iconic actor thinks of the film, director Fuqua, and the screenplay by Richard Wenk.
The Equalizer will blast its way into theaters everywhere next month on July 20.
What do you think of what you’ve seen so far from this Equalizer sequel? Did you like the first film, or the TV series?
