Noah Schnapp Says STRANGER THINGS Season 3 Is “Very Different”

Read Time:1 Minute, 40 Second

Stranger Things was an instant hit for Netflix when it premiered. The second season was met with pretty positive reactions too, but there was a definite difference between the two.

Season 3 is currently filming, and one of the stars of the show Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers,  sat down for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about it.

“It’s great because it has a lot of the dark parts from season two and a lot of the light, playful parts from season one,”

The different feel, or the “combination” feel, comes from the setting. The third season will find the kids of Hawkings, Indiana on summer break in 1985. Summer will open up a ton of new possibilities without pesky things like school and homework getting in the way.

“It’s very different this season because it’s in the summer, so you kind of get to see a different version of everyone.”

One of the funnest new characters in the season 2 was Lucas’s sister Erica. Schnapp said that there is a good reason that the actor who plays her, Priah Ferguson, was bumped up to a series regular.

“She definitely has a bigger part this season, and she kind of has her own storyline with someone from the cast.”

That is good news, because the random pairings work the best – case and point – Dustin and Steve together were a highlight of the second season.

Schnapp also had nothing but praise for his co-star Winona Ryder, who plays his mother.

“First of all, she’s amazing to work with. I love her, and she’s the best. She’s so kind to me and everyone, and whenever I need help with a scene or anything, she’ll always be like, ‘Can I help you? Let’s talk about the scene.’”

The third season of Stranger Things is expected to air some time next year exclusively on Netflix.
