DEADPOOL 2 Soundtrack to Feature an Original Song by Celine Dion
Yup, you read that right.
In one of the most bizarrely, awesome pair-ups of all-time, music megastar Celine Dion will lend her vocal talents to the Deadpool 2 soundtrack. The track, titled “Ashes”, can be seen below.
The song and the video are vintage Celine Dion. The singer, responsible for hit songs like “The Power of Love” and “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic, performs another powerful ballad, complete with violinists in the background and Dion in a stunning dress. While Dion sings the song, Deadpool appears to dance around the stage. You have to see it to believe it.
As the song ends, Deadpool again appears to tell Dion she did an amazing job, but she has to perform the song again. Deadpool says she and the song are “too good” and needs to be “phoned in” more. Dion gets her on zinger in on the Merc With the Mouth as the video ends.
Ryan Reynolds must have used some of his Canadian connections to get the legendary singer to perform for the movie’s soundrtack, but I’m so glad he did. Dion puts on another “Dion-esque” performance and they worked in some of the Deadpool humor we’re familiar with.
Move over Avengers: Infinity War, this may be the most ambitious crossover of all-time.
Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 18.
