INFINITY WAR: The Soul Stone Could Be The ‘Biggest Threat’ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Read Time:1 Minute, 50 Second

We know that the main macguffin of Avengers: Infinity War is going to be Thanos’s Infinity Gauntlet with the 6 Infinity Stones. We’ve seen most of these Infinity Stones pop up in the MCU already. But one that hasn’t been seen is the Soul Stone.

A lot of people – myself included – thought we’d see it in Black Panther and that was why Wakanda could sustain itself for so long. But there was no mention of it.

To prepare for Infinity War coming out in May, Marvel – besides giving us 18 movies – has released a prequel comic called The Infinity War Prelude. In it, Wong tells Doctor Strange about the Infinity Stones. He is very knowledgeable about them, except for the Soul Stone. He says:

“Little is known about the sixth and final Stone, the Soul Stone. But if what is known turns out to be true, it could prove to be the biggest threat of them all.”

Wong is one of the most knowledgeable people in the MCU, and knowledge is power. So the unknown can make the Soul Stone even more dangerous. Since no one will even begin to know how to stop it.

The Soul Stone has the power to trap souls in a pocket dimension. It is sentient, and more powerful than all of the other stones. We’ve witnessed the power of the other stones in films like Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy. There are theories that the “Ancestral Plane” – where T’Challa and Killmonger are able to speak to their dead fathers – is actually the Soul World.

It makes sense to show the biggest threat of all time in the biggest Marvel movie of all time. It will justify why over 60 characters we know and love will need to show up. Even though we didn’t see it in Black Panther, the Soul Stone could very well still be in Wakanda. We see at least one big fight takes place there in Infinity War from the previews, and that could be why Thanos and his legion invade there.

Where do you think the Soul Stone is? Wakanda? Does Captain Marvel have it? Or is it somewhere completely different?
